Dean C. Vafiadis, DDS, was born in Montreal, Canada on September 24, 1963.
Dr. Vafiadis attended Queens College where he received his B.S. degree in
Biology-Psychology, and was active in many organizations. He
attended NYU Dental College in 1985, where he received Dean's List status
of top 10th percentile in his class. In addition to operative Dentistry
honors, clinical awards, and officer of The Hellenic Student Dental
Society, he maintained a high average that allowed him to be accepted
directly into the Post-Graduate Prosthodontic Program at NYU. This
is one of the world's most renown programs that accepts a few residents
per year and treat the most extensive and difficult dental problems, while
working with some of the "fathers" of dentistry and nationally recognized
clinicians.
In 1991, Dr. Vafiadis graduated as one of the youngest Prosthodontists in
New York City, and one out of only eight Greek-American Prosthodontists in
New York State. With a good work ethic and with dedication to his
profession, he established a private practice of over two thousand active
patients. Dr. Vafiadis began teaching and
lecturing
to students and Dentists
and is presently on faculty at NYU PG Prosthodontic program. He also
is coordinating the Implant Department at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx,
New York and is member of The American College of Prosthodontics and seven
other professional organizations.
Dr.
Vafiadis received his B.S. Degree in
Biology-Psychology
from Queens College, N.Y. He graduated from NYU Dental College
in 1989, DDS degree.
He then attended the Post-Graduate Prosthodontic
Program at NYU in 1991 for Dental Implants and Oral Reconstruction.
He is one of
the few Greek-American Prosthodontists in the
New York area.
Dr. Vafiadis
is teaching and lecturing to students and dentists at NYU Dental
College and he is also the Coordinator Implant Program, St,
Barnabas Hospital. He is a New York based Proshodontist for
3 I Implant Innovations Co., and Lectures monthly. He has been the
Editorial Advisor for the Journal "Dental Implant Perspectives"
between 1993-1997. Lectures in Athens, Thessaloniki and other
European Universities to connect the dental students from Europe
and other countries with NYU's International Dental Education
Program. |
